Physical Education is an important part of a child's development at Wick and Marcross Church in Wales Primary School. Young children find pleasure in physical activities and enjoy discovering new experiences which capture their interest. The children are able to channel their energies and stimulate their imaginations by taking part in activities which allows them to develop new found skills, which in turn can enhance their self esteem and confidence.
During gymnastics we use a range of apparatus. The apparatus provides the children with opportunities to develop their skills on a variety of levels, textures, heights and angles of slopes. Using apparatus can increase the children's agility, strength and confidence.
Dance sessions allow the children to develop their creative skills as well as learning traditional steps to many Weslsh folk dances.
We are lucky enough to have a large playground area and a sports field which are ideal to use when taking games sessions outdoors. Using this space as an important part of the learning environment of the school we can offer the children a place where they can develop many physical skills in an appropriate area.
